Underway Replenishment (UNREP) System

Among Trident’s electro-mechanical systems expertise is a specialty in integrating marine cargo handling systems — underway replenishment (UNREP) systems — designed to move cargo on and off military ships while underway. As the leading provider of UNREP equipment, our customers count on Trident for our broad knowledge of systems integration to successfully design, engineer, and integrate these electro-mechanical material handling solutions quickly and efficiently.

We’re known for our superior work and level of service.

We design, engineer, build, install and maintain integrated power systems for ships in the military, cruise, commercial and energy markets. We also provide similar services for land-based natural gas drilling companies. Our scope of service includes everything from engineering, documentation and software programming to custom console/cabinet design and assembly.

What sets us apart?

Collaboration and experience. Our staff of engineers and technicians work closely with our customers to ensure the very best solution for your specific demands. We work in whatever capacity is best for you, with turnkey, EPC or EPIC options.

Dry Cargo Transfer Systems

  • Dry Cargo Transfer System delivers dry cargo by tensioned highline or light cargo and personnel by fiber rope highline. Cargo is suspended from a trolley that rides on a tensioned wire highline from a transfer station on the receiving ship. The tension in the lines remain the same regardless of the ship motion. The inhaul and outhaul winches pull the trolley back and forth between the ships. Their tension mode automatically compensates for ship roll. The Dry Cargo Transfer System includes a highline winch with anti-slack device (ASD), inhaul and outhaul winches, spring tower with ASD for each hauling winch, RAM tensioner, and sliding block drive. The RAM tensioner is used to provide constant tension to the highline when the wire is connected to the receiving ship. Hauling winches are used to pay out and haul in the retrieving line. Each winch has an ASD to prevent birdcaging and maintain proper line tension. The sliding block drive with transfer head is mounted on the kingpost and is used to raise and lower the load at the receiving station so it will clear the bulkhead during transfer. It is also used to lower the trolley for connecting the load, rigging, or returning a load.
  • T-AKE (LEWIS and CLARK Class); T-AOE (LEWIS AND CLARK Class)

Refueling Systems

  • The Refueling At-Sea delivery system is capable of delivering fuel by 300-foot hose rig. The Refueling At-Sea stations include a double hose rig with single probe and coupling, spanwire winch, saddle winches, RAM tensioner, and sliding block drive. The RAM tensioner is used to provide constant tension to the spanwire when the wire is connected to the receiving ship. Winches are used to pay out and haul in the retrieving line, outboard saddle whip, inboard saddle whip and spanwire. The spanwire winch includes an ASD to prevent birdcaging and maintain proper line tension.
